About the 7th AES
AES | Where Excellent Researchers Meet
A warm welcome to the official website of the 7th Annual ECoFI Symposium 2021 (AES2021). The symposium will be held virtually on Wednesday, July 28, 2021.
The AES provides a scholarly platform for presenting and publishing the latest research findings related to the topics of economics, finance, banking, and risk management. The AES has managed to provide opportunities for researchers to share and advance their scholarly work, as well as to establish potential research links for further collaboration. Each submission will be reviewed by the AES scientific committee who have been carefully selected based on their track records in research and top-tier publications.
Organised by the Economic and Financial Policy Institute (ECoFI) under the School of Economics, Finance and Banking, Universiti Utara Malaysia, the AES began its first symposium in 2014. After the exceptionally successful AES2019, AES2018, AES2017, AES2016, AES2015 and AES2014, AES2021 now returns with the theme “Covid-19 Health Crisis: Strengthening Governance and Integrity for Swift Economic Recovery”.
The Covid-19 pandemic has triggered one of the biggest economic challenges faced by global communities in recent memory. As nations around the world, including Malaysia, now enter into the critical economic phase of recovery and policy strategies, the current theme is not only timely, but is expected to be vibrant, educative, and filled with intense scholarly ideas and debates.
The following are some possible avenues for consideration:
-
Integrity and public governance
-
Industrial and international economics
-
Public and monetary economics
-
Development economics
-
Digital economy and fintech
-
Agricultural economics and food security
-
Environmental and natural resources economics
-

-

-
Risk management and insurance
-

-
Any other related topics on economics, finance, banking and risk management
This year, we are delighted to co-organise with Institut Tadbiran Awam Negara (INTAN), who will help to ensure the symposium is relevant for both academics and practitioners alike. The AES2021 will be held as follows:
